Does Seychelles have a citizenship test? How naturalisation works
Last reviewed: October 15, 2026 · Checked against the official source linked on this page.
In Seychelles, citizenship is governed by the Citizenship Act, as amended in 2023, and handled by the Immigration and Civil Status department. Most routes require long residence: the department cites an aggregate of 15 years for general applicants, while spouses of citizens have a separate route that requires a long marriage and a shorter period of legal residence. Applicants must also pass the official citizenship qualifying examination: 25 questions drawn from a pool of 100, taken in English, French or Kreol, with a pass mark of 80%.
This free set is a civics practice quiz, not the official exam, and its questions are not taken from the official pool. It covers Seychelles’ government, history, geography and symbols to help you build background knowledge. Always confirm the current rules and exam arrangements with the Immigration and Civil Status department before you apply.
