Does Lithuania have a citizenship test? How naturalisation works
Last reviewed: October 15, 2026 · Checked against the official source linked on this page.
Naturalisation in Lithuania requires a period of legal residence, a legal means of support, an exam in the Lithuanian language and an exam on the basic provisions of the Constitution, followed by an oath of loyalty. Lithuania generally restricts dual citizenship, so most naturalised citizens must give up their previous nationality. The Migration Department assesses applications and organises the oath. We have not been able to verify the exact format of the Constitution exam, so this site does not reproduce it.
This is a civics practice quiz, not the official exam. It covers Lithuania’s government, history, geography and national symbols to help you build background knowledge. Always confirm current requirements and exam details with the Migration Department.
