Last reviewed: October 15, 2026 · Checked against the official source linked on this page.
Citizenship of the Commonwealth of Dominica can be acquired by birth, descent, registration (for example by some spouses and Commonwealth citizens) or naturalisation under the Citizenship Act. Naturalisation is at the discretion of the Minister responsible for immigration, who looks at long residence, good character, the intention to live in Dominica and knowledge of English, and successful applicants take an oath of allegiance. There is no published official citizenship knowledge test. Dominica also runs a separate citizenship by investment programme, which has its own rules.
This is a civics practice quiz, not an official exam. It covers Dominica’s system of government, its history from the Kalinago to independence, and its geography, nature and national symbols. Always confirm the current requirements with the Government of Dominica before you apply.

How to prepare
Learn how Dominica differs from its neighbours: it is a republic with a President, not a monarchy.
Keep records of your residence, work and good character, since these are the main matters the Minister considers.
Read about the Kalinago Territory and Dominica's independence story to understand national identity.
If you are considering citizenship by investment, read its rules separately, as it is a different route from naturalisation.
